Kelly wanted to renovate the exterior of her single family home, front and back. For the back, she wanted a hot tub on the deck and a series of exterior spaces for various groups and activities - family, adults, kids, gardening, lawn and storage. Kelly wanted a zen experience on the deck and a gathering place in the far corner with a fire table. There was an existing deck and shed in the back that I incorporated into the design. I drew up a few options and we settled on the final design. Instead of a pergola, we went for a free standing umbrella. We incorporated a water feature, sculptures, new furniture, chartreuse accents, new plants and planters, black privacy fence covering and dark grey interlocking stone. For the front design we used the same dark grey stone, new wood steps, river rock, edging, new plants and planters. The result was a beautiful zen composition that started at the front and continued to the back garden oasis.
